Nanorc.org is dedicated to provide Linux tutorials related to CLI (command-line interface) and TUI (text user interface)
applications and tools. It also includes reviews and articles describing various handy applications like audio players,
audio and video encoders/decoders, text editors and many more.
|
Where does the name nanorc come from?
|
nanorc is the configuration file for the popular text editor Nano, and usually can be found in locations such as
/etc/nanorc and ~/.nanorc. When I wrote my first short tutorial about Nano, which was about editing this file, I
thought that it would be a nice name for a website related to programming and working in command-line. So I
decided to stick to it. The website contains much more than only Nano-related stuff though. By the way, did
you ever wonder what the 'rc' stands for in all those configuration files? It means 'run command'.
|
What other stuff can I find here?
|
I usually write here any tip or tutorial related to command-line, and I also include scripting and programming
stuff. An introduction to Linux CLI using Bash is also in the works. I also include configuration
options and configuration files for various tools like Vim, Emacs, Irssi and so on.
